The nominees for the BBC Sportsman of the Year award have been announced.
Arsenal and England striker Beth Mead has become the only footballer to be nominated for the Sports Personality of the Year award. The 27-year-old football player won the European Championship as part of England, and was also recognized as the best player in the tournament.
Gymnast Jessica Gadirova, world snooker champion Ronnie O`Sullivan, curler Eve Muirhead, cricketer Ben Stokes and runner Jake Whiteman were also shortlisted.
